Visual Art Curriculum

The Visual Art Curriculum at NBMS follows the National Standards for Visual Arts and the Rhode Island Standards for Visual Arts.  Units and lessons respond to Grade Span Expectations.

Using backward design, essential ideas and key concepts guide lessons, scope and sequence. Specific goals, objectives and visual references focus project expectations.  This structure allows students to both build technical skills in art and design and to be engaged in higher order and critical thinking through their creative practice.
